Student Leadership Team

The Student Leadership Team (SLT) is a core part of the school. The views of the student body are regularly consulted in all aspects of school life, from staff appointments to campus developments, such as our catering provision.

The SLT are a representative group of student leaders who work in teams to offer student voice on various school issues. They are organised into these working groups: Arts, Diversity and Equity, Health and Wellbeing, Charity and Community, STEM, Personal Development, Sport and Sustainability.

The groups meet regularly, supported by a member of school staff, and their views are always considered and more often taken to implement change within the school. The Ecology team successfully changed student habits by abolishing the plastic water bottle and have developed a wild flower garden, both of which are making a positive impact on our school environment. Some of the projects which are currently in progress are further reduction of plastic use across the school and canteen. Members of the team have also been influential in supporting decisions about food supply, choice and habits to further enhance the school experience and support student voice. The students are also trained and support school recruitment processes at every level, which develops their experience in this essential life skill, but also supports the school’s decisions and gives a valuable input from students.
