Medical Care

First Aid & Day-to-Day Support

Our Student Services team provides immediate first-aid care for minor injuries, sudden illnesses, or accidents occurring during the school day. Students feeling unwell can visit Student Services to be assessed by trained staff, who will administer basic first aid, offer a quiet space to rest, or contact parents/carers if a student needs to be collected.

Management of Ongoing Medical Conditions

We work closely with families and healthcare professionals to support students with long-term medical conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, or epilepsy. Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs) are established to detail daily management routines, emergency protocols, and medication requirements, ensuring your child receives consistent, tailored care while maintaining full access to their education. It is the responsibility of parents/ carers to ensure to complete and update a care plan and to let the school know immediately if a condition is diagnosed or if a care plan needs any change. These will be issued and held using a specialist programme called ‘Medical Tracker’.

Allergy Management & Anaphylaxis Support

Student safety is our top priority, particularly regarding severe allergies. We are committed to educating our whole school community and have robust procedures in place. The Allergy and Anaphylaxis Policy is an AET wide policy and can be found under the policy section of this website. Spare auto-injectors are safely stored in Student Services, Main Reception and the Sports Hall for rapid access, and all staff receive regular training on allergy awareness and emergency response. We ask parents/carers to keep us fully updated on any dietary or environmental allergies so we can maintain a safe environment across all school activities. An Allergy Care Plan must be completed by parents/ carers and updated as needed.
